A Record-Breaking Summer! Forty students from fifteen area high schools donated time from their summer vacation to assist local families in need.
Students from Xaverian Brothers High School gather with My Brother's Keeper staff members in front of the Divine Servant sculpture after a day of deliveries.
Forty high school students from around the South Shore gave generously of their time and talents this summer, helping My Brother’s Keeper make more than 300 furniture deliveries and 800 food deliveries to families in need from June to August.
Altogether, the 40 high school students contributed a total of 1,356 hours of volunteer work! They hailed from Catholic schools such as BC High, Xaverian Brothers, Cardinal Spellman, St. Sebastian’s, Fontbonne, and Coyle Cassidy, as well as from public schools in Easton, Brockton, Pembroke, Stoughton, E. Bridgewater, Weymouth, Duxbury, and Milton.
My Brother’s Keeper additionally had two student summer interns, Brian Galvin from Bentley College and Chris Ezepik from Stonehill, both former high school volunteers. Each served more than 500 hours at My Brother’s Keeper this summer and provided outstanding leadership to our current high school students.
This summer's increased involvement of high school students is a perfect exmple of the continuous growth of the My Brother's Keeper community. With more new students volunteering each year, we continue to increase our work to help meet the needs of the local communities. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to each of these young people who worked so hard for Christ this summer.
Thanks to all who made this year's Shootout our most successful ever!
This year's top shooter was only 7 feet from hitting the One Million Dollar Hole-in-One!
Congratulations to this year's three consolation prize winners:

An evening full of celebration!
Left to right: Honorary Co-Chairs Jack Shaughnessy Sr., John McNeice Jr., Margarete McNeice, cofounder Terry Orcutt, cofounder Jim Orcutt, executive director Erich Miller, and master of ceremonies Fran Dillon.
On Wednesday, June 11th, more than 700 members of the My Brother's Keeper community gathered to celebrate what God began twenty years ago through Jim and Terry Orcutt.
Jim and Terry were presented with the prestigious Life in Christ Award for their untiring devotion to bringing the Love and Hope of Jesus Christ to those in need.
The award has been given by My Brother's Keeper on four previous occasions to community members who exemplified Christ's model of service throughout their lives.
This beautiful event was organized and planned by 20th Anniversary Committee chairs Grace Concannon, Lori Grant, and Donna Lane as well as My Brother's Keeper executive director Erich Miller. Jack Shaughnessy Sr. as well as John and Margarete McNeice were the honorary event co-chairs who helped make this event the most successful fundraiser in the history of My Brother's Keeper. Through this event we were able to raise more than $200,000 to assist local families in need.
The evening was full of reminiscing with a slideshow and video highlighting the thousands of volunteers who have made up My Brother's Keeper over the past twenty years. Our sincerest gratitude to those individuals and organizations who helped to make this evening such a wonderful success.
